What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a Software Engineer I to join the Engineering Excellence (EE) team in Balboa, CA. This entry-level, full-time role focuses on building foundational engineering skills while contributing to platform reliability, security, performance, and maintainability.
- Design, develop, modify, debug, and evaluate software enhancements or new programs for local, networked, cloud-based, or internet environments
- Review platform requirements and business processes; develop program logic for new applications and analyze/modify logic in existing applications
- Interact with users and product/operations partners to clarify platform requirements and define necessary modifications
- Code, test, debug, document, implement, and maintain software using standard programming languages and technologies
- Integrate application components and participate in testing, debugging, and deployment activities
- Contribute to conversion and platform implementation plans and prepare documentation/procedures for installation and maintenance
- Recommend improvements to development, maintenance, and platform standards; assist in user training for platform changes
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field — or equivalent experience
- 6 months–2 years of experience in software engineering, infrastructure design, system engineering, QA/testing automation, or DevOps
- Hands-on experience with testing methodology and test automation frameworks
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to debug under guidance
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work well under pressure
- Willingness to learn from senior engineers and follow established platform standards
Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay range: $36.95 - $45.17 per hour (the posted range represents the employer’s good-faith estimate; actual pay depends on experience, qualifications, and location)
- Most employees may be eligible for additional incentive pay
