What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a Software Engineer I (AI Focus) to help develop and integrate AI capabilities into cyber and CNO workflows. You will work with senior engineers and mission stakeholders to build reliable, scalable integrations that connect models, APIs, and operational data.

• Develop production-ready agentic integrations in Python that leverage multiple AI models, external APIs, and diverse data sources.
• Build tools and orchestrated agent workflows using modern frameworks (examples: PydanticIA, Langgraph, DeepAgents).
• Integrate HTTP/REST-based APIs and transform JSON data for downstream AI tooling and analytics.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to elicit requirements, test workflows, identify issues, and roll out fixes.
• Extract and normalize mission-relevant information from heterogeneous data types to support automated workflows.
• Document implementation details and present analysis/results to technical and non-technical customers.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3 years of professional software engineering experience (B.S. in a technical discipline OR 4 additional years in lieu of degree).
• Proficiency in Python, including JSON handling, REST API interaction, and data manipulation.
• Practical understanding of AI development concepts: prompt engineering, context management, structured outputs, and function/tool calling.
• Experience consuming HTTP-based APIs and building integration logic.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
• Clear communication skills and experience presenting technical analysis to customers.
• Applicants must already hold a TS/SCI clearance with a current Full Scope Polygraph before applying. Confidential Client is not sponsoring or processing clearances for this position.

Nice to Have

• Experience building agentic or multi-agent orchestration workflows.
• Familiarity with retrieval systems (RAG, vector DBs, semantic search).
• Background in SIGINT collection/analysis systems or cybersecurity operations.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS.
• Practical experience with LLMs, autonomy, planning, or related AI domains.
• Familiarity with production CNO capabilities and operations.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $163,000 — $178,000 per year.
• Additional immediately vested company 401(k) contributions: $41,000 — $44,000 (as communicated by the client).
• This role is full-time. Specific benefits and other compensation details will be provided by the Confidential Client during the hiring process.

• Location: Maryland, United States (onsite or as specified by the Confidential Client).
• Employment type: FULL_TIME.
