What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is building the software ecosystem that connects industrial controllers, developer tooling, and cloud services. You will help deliver reliable, production-grade systems across device, desktop, and cloud.
- Build the developer experience: editor integrations, simulation, deployment flows, and AI-assisted workflows that speed controls development.
- Own infrastructure and release engineering: CI/CD (with hardware-in-the-loop), OTA update pipelines, rollout and rollback processes, and fleet management for devices in the field.
- Ship the full data path: local data viewers, ingestion, storage, query, and visualization for high-rate industrial time-series.
- Work across the stack: web servers that run on controllers, desktop tooling, and cloud services — choosing pragmatic, reliable technologies.
- Design and maintain stable, versioned APIs and documentation that survive real-world usage.
- Deliver features end-to-end: take vague requests to shipped, monitored products and iterate in production. Use AI tools daily to accelerate work while owning quality.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, concurrency, networking, and systems-level reasoning.
- Proven experience shipping and operating production software that real users depend on; you can describe incidents and fixes.
- Fluency in TypeScript and React (or similar) plus proficiency in at least one systems language (Rust, Go, C++, or advanced Python).
- Test- and instrumentation-first mindset; “works on my machine” is not acceptable.
- Product sense: you simplify workflows proactively and care about end-user experience.
- Comfort in small teams without a PM layer: you’ll talk to customers, own outcomes, and use AI thoughtfully (knowing when it helps and when it harms).
Nice to Have
- Experience with time-series data systems, industrial protocols, or other high-rate telemetry.
- Background building developer tools, IDEs, language tooling, or simulation environments.
- Familiarity with embedded Linux and debugging code where it runs.
- LLM-powered features shipped to production.
Compensation
- $140,000–$210,000 base, plus meaningful early equity. The range reflects differing levels of production experience and impact.
Benefits
- Significant stock option packages
- 100% employer-paid Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance (multiple plan options)
- Paid vacation, sick leave, and company holidays
- Free daily catered lunch and dinner
Work Location & Schedule
- Location: Gardena, CA — on-site, five days a week.
