Position overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Software Engineer (Full Stack) in San Francisco, CA to help build and maintain a mission-critical internal platform that powers data workflows, project lifecycles, enterprise AI tooling, and a proprietary CRM. The platform is built with Python, Django (DRF), TypeScript, React, and PostgreSQL. You will contribute production-quality features, reduce technical debt, and help scale the system responsibly.

What You’ll Do

• Immerse yourself in the business context of multiple functional areas and systems
• Build new features and reliably execute on implementation work
• Refactor, consolidate, or remove code to reduce technical debt and improve maintainability
• Recommend pragmatic paths forward for projects you own — growth, simplification, or alignment with the broader system
• Review and integrate prototypes or applications built outside the engineering group; help steer or rebuild them to production standards
• Deliver stable, well-tested code with documentation and reasonable test coverage

Minimum Qualifications

• 2 years of experience as a Software Engineer in a web application environment, OR
• 2 years as a Software Engineer plus a reputable bootcamp certification, OR
• A 4-year Computer Science (or related) degree plus demonstrable projects or work experience
• Hands-on experience with Python and TypeScript
• Working knowledge of APIs, Git, and web application system design concepts
• Strong attention to detail and a systems-minded approach to engineering

AI & Technical Qualifications

• Experience with prompt-driven AI development and integrating AI-assisted tooling into applications
• Ability to explain and verify any AI-produced code changes line-by-line
• Experience taking prototypes beyond proof-of-concept into robust, maintainable systems
• Comfortable with testing, documentation, and adding minimal, maintainable complexity

Nice to Have

• Django / Django REST Framework (DRF)
• AWS or other cloud infrastructure experience
• PostgreSQL and production database operational knowledge
• Familiarity with enterprise AI stacks or MCP-style servers that serve data to AI tooling
