What You’ll Do
The Confidential Client is seeking a hands-on Full Stack Software Engineer to design, build, test, and maintain scalable applications that support mission-critical government programs. You will work on large data sets, implement microservices, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (data scientists, analysts, PMs, hardware engineers).
- Design, develop, test, debug, and deploy new software tools and features.
- Build and extend microservices-based systems using Spring Boot and other modern frameworks.
- Integrate and consume cloud services (AWS) to support scalable, secure platforms.
- Analyze existing applications and recommend improvements for performance, reliability, and usability.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to resolve software/hardware integration issues.
- Produce and update technical documentation: user guides, runbooks, and design docs.
- Provide ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer support for deployed systems.
- Work in an Agile environment and participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Recommend and implement continuous improvement opportunities in tooling, processes, and architecture.
What You’ll Need
Minimum qualifications and required clearances for lawful performance of this role in the United States:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline — OR equivalent combination of education, certifications, training, and relevant work/military experience.
- Experience: 2+ years of professional software development experience.
- Security/Citizenship: Must currently possess Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph clearance. US citizenship is required.
- Technical skills:
- Strong programming experience in Java and Python; experience with JavaScript is preferred.
- Hands-on experience building microservices, ideally using Spring Boot.
- Practical experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native development.
- Comfortable working on Linux-based systems.
- Experience with large data sets, configuration management, and observability/monitoring tools.
- Soft skills:
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication for technical documentation and cross-team collaboration.
- Ability to work independently in an Agile environment and mentor peers when appropriate.
Compensation, Schedule & Location
- Likely salary range: $93,662 - $107,711 (provided by the Confidential Client). Actual pay will be based on experience, geographic location, and contract requirements and could fall outside this range.
- Employment type: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Work location: Onsite — Chantilly, VA.
- Travel: None required for routine duties.
