Role overview
Confidential Client is hiring a Full‑Stack Software Engineer to design, build, and operate cloud-native mission applications in Cincinnati, OH. This is a cleared role requiring an active Top Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship. You will work on decision‑support systems, microservices, APIs, data pipelines, and user-facing interfaces used in operational environments.
What you’ll do
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate cloud-hosted full‑stack applications (front-end, back-end, data, and cloud infrastructure)
- Build microservices, APIs, and scalable data pipelines to fuse sensor and enterprise data into actionable knowledge
- Implement user-facing web interfaces that integrate with backend analytics and services
- Develop and integrate algorithms for optimization, analytics, and automated reasoning
- Evaluate commercial/cloud solutions as part of make/buy analyses and integrate COTS/GOTS when appropriate
- Work with containers, CI/CD pipelines, and managed cloud services in AWS/Azure environments
- Participate in system architecture, code reviews, and lifecycle support of fielded systems
The cloud-native solution will include
- Decision support orchestration and scalable processing pipelines
- Algorithm development and integration (optimization, analytics, automated reasoning)
- Knowledge production from disparate sensors and data sources via APIs and services
- Web and operator-facing components that expose analytic capabilities
Essential functions
- Full‑stack software engineering across the SDLC: architecture, development, integration, testing, deployment, and operations
- Design and implement cloud-hosted microservices, serverless or containerized workloads, and managed data services
- Integrate analytic services and decision support tools into an overall enterprise architecture
- Produce data products (dashboards, APIs, UI components) for automated and manual consumers
- Maintain security and compliance practices required for classified environments
Minimum qualifications
- B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field and 2+ years programming experience (or advanced degree per company policy)
- Demonstrated programming experience in Python, C, or C++
- Proven full lifecycle software engineering experience, including operations and maintenance of fielded systems
- Experience integrating commercial software products into custom solutions
- Active Top Secret clearance required
- U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred qualifications
- Active SCI clearance
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) — microservices, serverless, containerized workloads, managed data services
- Experience with web development stacks (TypeScript, JavaScript, React) and backend languages such as Go
- Familiarity with Docker, VMware, Git-based source control, and CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
- Experience integrating COTS/GOTS tools into deliverable software products
- Experience with Agile methodologies and model-based design (SysML/UML, Cameo)
- Experience developing for U.S. government classified environments
Work schedule & compensation
- This position offers an optional 9/80 schedule (nine‑hour days Monday–Thursday with every other Friday off) where applicable.
- Primary level salary range: $91,800 — $137,600 per year. Final offers consider role, experience, education, and market factors. Other compensation (overtime, shift differentials, discretionary bonuses) may apply depending on position.
Security & eligibility
- Active Top Secret clearance is required at hire. Preference for candidates with SCI.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for roles requiring government clearance.
