Software Engineer -Confidential Client (Non-Merit)

What You’ll Do
- Work with stakeholders and systems analysts to gather requirements and develop specifications for new applications and features.
- Collaborate with systems analysts and management to plan, maintain timelines, and deliver short- and long-term projects.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain in-house applications, APIs, and databases.
- Provide tier-3 support and assist other programmers to troubleshoot and prevent duplicate code.
- Create and maintain development best practices, documentation, and training materials.
- Actively identify opportunities to improve processes, standards, and delivery quality.
- Participate in appropriate testing and release procedures before production deployment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience with C#, VB.NET, .NET Standard, and .NET Core.
- Solid SQL skills and experience with SQL Server and database design/optimization.
- Experience with ASP.NET and frontend frameworks (Angular); comfortable with TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Familiarity with Nx, Git, and modern development workflows.
- Ability and willingness to learn a broad range of tools and frameworks across the software development discipline.
- Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and to take on additional responsibilities during emergencies.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Professionalism and commitment to neutral, nonpartisan service in a legislative environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent training.
- Knowledge base generally acquired from a college degree or equivalent training; limited relevant experience may be required. Education may be substituted for experience and experience may be substituted for education at the discretion of the supervisor and manager.

Employment Details
- Employment type: Full-time (40.0 hours/week).
- Classification: Permanent, non-merit position (ineligible for overtime pay). Compensatory time is awarded on an hour-for-hour basis with prior approval.
- Work location: Frankfort, KY — onsite at 702 Capital Ave, Capitol Annex, Room 456.
