Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Software Engineer to join an engineering team working on mission‑critical space and defense systems. This is an on‑site position based in Fort Wayne, IN. You will contribute to design, implementation, and integration of software that supports space systems and related engineering efforts.

What You’ll Do

• Develop, test, and maintain software for space and defense systems following secure development practices
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams (hardware, systems, optical, mechanical) to integrate software with system components
• Implement unit and integration tests and participate in system verification activities
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects discovered during integration, test, or operation
• Produce clear technical documentation and design artifacts
• Participate in design reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement of development processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years of relevant experience OR an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree (senior roles may require more experience)
• Relevant experience in aerospace, defense, or related technology industries preferred
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (role requires U.S. Citizenship and a background investigation)
• Strong problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills
• Willingness to work on‑site in Fort Wayne, IN; candidates must reside locally or be willing and able to relocate within 3 months if selected
• Note: this role is not intended for recent or new college graduates

• Virtual hiring event: Thursday, November 12, 2026 — 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM EST (candidates across the U.S. may attend, but hired roles require on‑site presence or relocation)
