Overview

Confidential Client (Software Development) is seeking a Software Engineer, Economy Platform to help design, build, and operate the backend systems that power a large virtual economy. You will work on high-throughput transaction systems (purchases, pricing, payouts), APIs, and microservices that require strong reliability, observability, and performance at scale.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement highly available, scalable backend services that power economy and payments flows
• Build well-designed REST APIs and service integrations used by internal product teams and creators
• Contribute to microservice and containerized-system architecture; improve operability and deployment practices
• Instrument systems with metrics, logging, and alerting; use data to drive reliability and quality improvements
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, data, and security teams to introduce new economic models and features
• Participate in code reviews, incident response, and capacity planning

What We’re Looking For

• 1–3 years of professional experience in software engineering, computer science, or related field
• Experience building backend systems that are resilient and scalable in production
• Familiarity with REST and API design patterns
• Experience with containerized systems and microservices (or demonstrated ability to work with those paradigms)
• Strong focus on monitoring, metrics, and data-driven quality improvements
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; Confidential Client may not be able to sponsor certain visa types for this role

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual Salary Range: $153,120—$196,750 USD
  • This range reflects the expected base pay for roles based in California. Actual base pay will depend on job-related factors such as professional background, training, experience, location, business needs, and market conditions. In some circumstances actual salary could fall outside the posted range.
• Full-time employees may be eligible for equity compensation and benefits per the client’s programs. Specific benefits and eligibility will be provided by Confidential Client.
