What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a Java-focused Software Engineer to join an Agile team supporting a mission-critical web application. This is a 100% remote role (with occasional travel up to 10%) and you'll work collaboratively with government and contractor teammates to design, build, test, and maintain Java web applications that support defense-related operations.
- Work on an Agile team to complete user stories and deliver production-quality Java code
- Design, develop, and unit-test server-side components using Java and web application frameworks
- Contribute to functional and acceptance testing, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
- Participate in peer code reviews and help maintain documentation and testing best practices
- Use CI/CD and version control tools to deploy incremental features
- Communicate sprint commitments and progress with backlog owners and stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered, candidates must meet one of the following education/experience combinations and be able to obtain a NACI background check:
- Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of professional Java development experience
OR - Associate’s degree plus 4 years of professional Java development experience
- Ability to obtain a NACI (National Agency Check with Inquiries)
- Willingness to travel up to 10% as required
- Eligible to work in the United States
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Spring Boot and/or Struts
- Strong Java web application development experience
- Familiarity with Oracle RDBMS and SQL
- Experience with Linux operating environments
- Experience using Jira, Confluence, and Git (or Bitbucket)
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices
