Role Overview

We are seeking a mid- to senior-level C++ Software Engineer to develop high‑assurance cryptographic systems for a confidential client in the Computer and Network Security industry. This is a hands-on, full-time, on-site role in San Diego focused on system services, APIs, business logic, and Qt-based user interface components. The ideal candidate emphasizes code quality, secure design, and reliable system engineering.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑assurance software systems in C++
• Implement Qt-based user interface components and supporting application logic
• Build and integrate secure communications interfaces, APIs, and system services (TLS/HTTPS, TCP/IP)
• Develop modular, maintainable software aligned with system and security requirements
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design reviews
• Create automated tests and contribute to CI/CD workflows and test automation
• Collaborate closely with engineering, security, and systems teams to deliver production-ready features

Required Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of professional software development experience (mid- to senior-level expected)
• Strong proficiency in modern C++ and software design best practices
• Experience developing on Linux/Unix systems and using Git-based version control
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, TLS, HTTPS) and RESTful APIs
• Experience writing automated tests and working with CI/CD tools
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be a U.S. citizen; Active Secret clearance is required for this role

Preferred Experience

• Experience with embedded or resource-constrained systems
• Experience with UI frameworks (Qt preferred)
• Background in developing backend services or RESTful systems
• Familiarity with cryptographic concepts, secure communications, or key management
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
