What You’ll Do

This role is for an early-career Software Engineer contributing to Corporate Generative AI (GenAI) solutions. You will work on well-scoped features that support agentic workflows and build applications that use large language models (LLMs) to retrieve information, automate tasks, and guide users through complex processes.

  • Develop, test, debug, and maintain full‑stack software features across front-end, back-end, API, and data layers.
  • Write clean, readable, and maintainable code that follows team standards and modern software engineering practices.
  • Use LLMs and generative AI coding tools to support development, debugging, documentation, and problem-solving.
  • Apply computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design) to deliver reliable solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality.
  • Support deployments, monitoring, and troubleshooting in Azure or similar cloud environments.
  • Follow development best practices including version control, testing, documentation, CI/CD, and agile work tracking.
  • Collaborate with teammates and stakeholders to clarify requirements, communicate progress, and deliver high-quality work.
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks, identify blockers early, and demonstrate a strong willingness to learn.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required):

  • Bachelor’s degree OR 3+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • ~6 months of relevant software development experience preferred.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with modern front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript); React preferred.
  • Exposure to back-end development in one or more server-side languages (Python, Java, C#, Node/TypeScript).
  • Introductory experience with relational, NoSQL, or in-memory databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.).
  • Introductory experience building, consuming, testing, or documenting REST APIs.
  • Awareness of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Ability to write, review, and refine clean, readable code in one or more languages (Python, Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript).
  • Experience using LLM-assisted development tools while applying judgment to validate outputs.
  • Ability to evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git).
  • Introductory exposure to CI/CD concepts and automated development workflows.
  • Exposure to GenAI development tools and basic prompt-engineering concepts; experience using language model APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) through projects or self-learning.
  • Strong collaboration, curiosity about Generative AI, analytical problem-solving, and a learning mindset.

Location, Schedule & Travel

  • Location: Bellevue, WA (onsite expectation).
  • Onsite requirement: Confidential client requires at least 3 days per week in the office; exact days will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
  • Travel: 5–10% travel may be required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated salary range (U.S. applicants): $88,000 to $136,900 USD per year. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, experience, and location. The role may also be eligible for bonus and equity.

Work Hours & Physical Requirements

  • Work hours vary depending on departmental needs.
  • This position will be performed in an office setting and requires routine desk work, verbal and written communication, and regular use of standard office equipment.
