What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer to help design, build, test, and maintain cloud-native applications built on microservices. This role is an excellent fit for engineers early in their career who are comfortable writing production code, learning from senior engineers, and contributing to architecture and quality improvements.

• Design, implement, and enhance cloud-based services and features in a microservices environment.
• Translate product and functional requirements into clean, testable technical solutions.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to improve code quality and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, collaborate with senior engineers, and follow team coding standards.
• Document system components and contribute to performance, observability, and maintainability improvements.
• Work within an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) SDLC to deliver iterative value.

What We’re Looking For

• 2–3 years of professional software development experience or equivalent hands-on project experience.
• Experience building cloud-based applications and working with microservices or service-oriented architectures.
• Solid fundamentals in data structures and algorithms and experience applying them to real-world problems.
• Practical experience writing unit tests and improving code quality.
• Comfortable working in Agile teams (Scrum and/or Kanban) and collaborating with product and engineering partners.
• Strong communication skills and a bias toward ownership and pragmatic problem solving.
• Must be able to work in Leawood, KS (on-site or local-commute), and must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with observability tools, CI/CD pipelines, or distributed tracing.
• Exposure to event-driven designs, API gateways, or service meshes.
• Contributions to team design discussions and architecture reviews.

Compensation & Location

• Location: Leawood, KS (on-site / local-commute)
• Salary Range: $120,000 – $130,000 per year
• Employment Type: Full-time
