Position overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Software Engineer — Cloud Computing focused on test automation for cloud-native, microservice-based systems. This full-time role supports a platform migration using modern technologies (Go, React, Google Cloud Platform) and sits on cross-functional teams that include software development and operations engineering. The position is eligible for a hybrid working policy.

Annual salary range: $100,000 — $135,000 (USD)

What You’ll Do

You will be part of a full-stack delivery team responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automated test suites and test infrastructure that ensure platform reliability and performance at scale.

• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end and integration automated tests for microservice and publish-subscribe architectures
• Automate manual test cases to increase coverage and speed of delivery
• Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines and report test status and metrics
• Collaborate with developers and Operations Engineering to improve testability, observability, and deployment workflows
• Apply testing best practices (unit, integration, end-to-end — testing pyramid) and participate in code reviews
• Mentor junior engineers on test design and automation techniques
• Explore and evaluate new tools, including AI-assisted testing solutions, to improve QA productivity and reliability

Required Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing automated test suites for microservice-based systems and publish-subscribe architectures
• Practical experience applying AI tools or automation frameworks to accelerate testing workflows
• Proficiency in one or more of: C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Golang
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into them
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and environment tooling (Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Effective verbal and written communication; ability to work cross-functionally
• Experience mentoring other engineers and promoting testability best practices

• Prior experience in high-throughput or low-latency production environments
• Experience working on platform migrations or re-architectures
• Familiarity with observability tools and performance testing at scale
