Job Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Software Engineer in Cayce, SC for a hybrid (one week in-office / one week telework) full-time role. The position focuses on building medium-complexity applications, backend/business-logic development, system analysis, unit testing, and collaborating with product and architecture stakeholders. This role leverages AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve productivity.


What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain backend systems and business logic for medium-complexity applications.
  • Implement features from the product backlog and collaborate with Product/Business Owner to understand and size user stories.
  • Perform unit testing and help automate test cases where applicable.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot / Microsoft Copilot) responsibly to support development, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, Portfolio Architects, UI/UX designers, and other partners to ensure solutions meet quality, security and enterprise standards.
  • Troubleshoot and perform ongoing product maintenance and support (break/fix).
  • Mentor and support less experienced team members.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • 2–3+ years of programming or systems analysis experience (or equivalent combination of education & experience).
  • Experience adapting rapidly-changing technologies to solve business needs.
  • Familiarity with generative AI concepts and practical use of AI-assisted development tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated customer focus and ability to understand business needs.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and function effectively under pressure.
  • Demonstrated decision-making skills and use of multiple tools to solve technical problems.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience preferred.
  • Preferred disciplines: Business Administration, Computer Science, Computer Engineering (other disciplines may be substituted).

Working Conditions & Travel

  • Office work environment (76–100%).
  • Travel up to 25%.
  • This position does not offer relocation assistance.
  • At this time, Confidential Client cannot sponsor work visas for this role.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Expected hiring base salary range: $81,900 - $106,400 per year. Actual salary offered will vary based on qualifications, experience, and work location.
  • Competitive benefits package including health, dental, vision, retirement plans (401k), paid time off, tuition reimbursement, bonus eligibility, and other benefits.
