About the Role

Our confidential client is building infrastructure for safe, auditable agent-driven workflows. As a Software Engineer on this team you will own features end-to-end across gateway infrastructure, enterprise deployments, and agentic systems. The work is backend- and infrastructure-focused, but engineers address the full stack when the product requires it. You will work closely with founders and customers, use AI tools daily, and operate with fast iteration and high ownership.

What You’ll Do

• Own features from conception through production across gateway and connector systems.
• Design and harden infrastructure that minimizes blast radius and enforces trust boundaries.
• Build and maintain connectors to enterprise systems and data stores.
• Ship backend services and APIs; improve reliability, observability, and security for enterprise paths.
• Triage production incidents and deliver durable fixes under real-world constraints.
• Collaborate with product, security, and customer teams to translate needs into shipped solutions.
• Use AI tools (agents, models, code assistants) effectively while auditing generated outputs for correctness and safety.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven record of shipping software used by real users (product, internal tools, open source, etc.).
• Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to learn quickly.
• Pragmatic product-minded approach: prioritize customer value over technical purity.
• Deep appreciation for infra concerns: blast radius, trust boundaries, least privilege.
• Ability to read unfamiliar codebases and explain architectural tradeoffs.
• Comfortable across stack or able to pick up TypeScript, Python, databases (e.g., CockroachDB) and protocols quickly.
• Experience building with AI-enabled tooling or interest in agentic systems.

Nice to Have

• Experience with developer-facing products, protocol or gateway design, or large-scale infrastructure.
• Background in security, identity, or permission systems.
• Contributions to open-source MCP servers or agentic frameworks.
• Design sensibility — engineers who care about UX and designers who think about infrastructure.
