Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Software Engineer (Contract) to join a development team working on customer-facing insurance compliance products. This role is focused on maintenance, enhancements, and delivery of reliable .NET/C# applications. The position is based in Boca Raton, FL and reports as a contract engagement.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain and enhance existing .NET/C# applications used for insurance compliance.
• Diagnose, debug, and resolve production issues and technical defects.
• Implement REST APIs and back-end services that integrate with MySQL/SQL databases.
• Apply MVC patterns and SOLID principles to improve code quality and maintainability.
• Produce clean, well-documented code and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with product owners and QA to deliver features on schedule.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience developing with .NET/C#.
• Hands-on experience with MySQL and SQL.
• Professional experience building applications using MVC frameworks.
• Solid understanding of common design patterns and SOLID principles.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Front-end familiarity with HTML, CSS, jQuery, and JavaScript.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently on long-term contract assignments.

Nice-to-Have

• Exposure to Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.
• Experience with .NET Core.
• Java experience.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
• Prior experience in insurance or compliance-focused software.

Compensation & Logistics

• Employment type: Contractor
• Pay rate (as provided by the client): $55–$60 per hour
• Location: Boca Raton, FL (Contract)
• Duration: Long-term contract (details to be provided by Confidential Client during interview)
