What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a versatile Software Engineer / AI Engineer who blends core backend development with practical AI integration. You will design and ship production systems that incorporate large language models (LLMs) and related AI tooling to deliver reliable, scalable features.

• Design, write, and maintain scalable backend services, microservices, and APIs.
• Integrate LLMs and AI workflows (RAG, embeddings, fine-tuning) using OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or open-source models.
• Build and maintain data pipelines and vector search integrations (pgvector, Pinecone, Qdrant, ChromaDB, Weaviate).
• Optimize inference latency, manage token and inference costs, and tune database performance for high throughput.
• Implement unit, integration, and performance tests for both application code and AI outputs.
• Collaborate with product, design, and data engineering teams to turn product ideas into reliable AI-driven features.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or modern backend languages (Node.js, Go, or Java).
• Strong experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and GraphQL in microservice architectures.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and vector databases or vector search.
• Practical experience integrating LLM APIs and building prompt engineering workflows.
• Familiarity with AI orchestration libraries/frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or AutoGen.
• Cloud and DevOps experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of RAG architecture, semantic search, document chunking, and model evaluation/guardrails.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent practical experience — or equivalent professional experience.
• 2+ years of professional software development experience, with demonstrable experience integrating AI/ML models into production applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to building maintainable systems.
