What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Software Engineer to design, build, and operate backend services and cloud-native applications. This role focuses on backend development, reliability, and observability for production systems.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend software that meets customer and business needs
- Build and operate scalable, reliable, and secure services in AWS (Lambda, EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, DocumentDB)
- Develop microservices and event-driven applications using modern best practices
- Troubleshoot production issues and participate in incident resolution
- Create and maintain monitoring dashboards, metrics, and alerts to meet SLOs
- Participate in system design and architectural discussions with engineers and product teams
- Continuously improve observability, operational processes, and system performance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
- 0–2 years professional software engineering experience (entry-level)
- Experience developing applications in Java, Go, or another object-oriented language
- Understanding of software development principles and object-oriented design
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially AWS
- Basic knowledge of APIs, distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging applications
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in an Agile environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Spring Framework
- Familiarity with container technologies (Kubernetes)
- Exposure to monitoring and observability tooling
- Interest or experience in healthcare technology & operations
- Experience with highly available and fault-tolerant systems

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour (Contract-to-hire). Individual pay within this range will depend on qualifications, experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
