What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring a Software Engineer to help design, build, and operate scalable backend systems. You will work on microservices, APIs, and platform-level services; contribute to system design and integrations; support testing and performance optimization; and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver production-quality software.

• Build and maintain backend services using Go, Java, or Python with REST or gRPC and microservice architectures
• Contribute to system design, integration and architecture discussions
• Implement and support testing (unit/integration) and CI/CD pipelines
• Monitor and optimize performance and reliability in production
• Containerize and deploy services using Docker and Kubernetes
• Work with cloud services (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP equivalents acceptable) for operations, storage, and monitoring
• Implement observability (metrics, logs, tracing) and respond to incidents
• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum teams; participate in code reviews and maintain high engineering standards

Qualifications

Minimum requirements (applicants must meet these):

• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field
• 2 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer or in a related role

Required technical experience:

• 2+ years building backend services in Go, Java, or Python using REST or gRPC and microservice patterns
• 1+ year working with datastores (PostgreSQL, MySQL; familiarity with Redis, Cassandra, Cosmos DB is a plus)
• 1+ year with containerization & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• 1+ year with cloud operations (Azure experience such as AKS, storage, monitoring preferred; AWS/GCP equivalents acceptable)
• 1+ year with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK/EFK, Jaeger, or similar)
• 1+ year with CI/CD tooling and delivery workflows (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) and testing practices

Nice-to-have:

• Experience operating production services at scale
• Demonstrated familiarity with telemetry/tracing systems and alerting best-practices
• Experience with Azure AKS and Azure monitoring tools

Compensation & Location

• Salary range: $117,749 - $130,000 per year (base)
• Location: Bellevue, WA (telecommuting permitted from anywhere in the U.S.)
