What You’ll Do

• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle: design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain backend services built for scale and reliability.
• Build and own microservices and APIs using Go, Java, or Python (REST and gRPC).
• Collaborate on system design and integration to deliver performant, maintainable solutions that meet product and operational goals.
• Implement and improve observability (metrics, logs, tracing) to ensure production reliability and rapid incident response.
• Containerize applications and manage orchestration workflows using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Support cloud operations (Azure AKS preferred; AWS/GCP experience accepted) including storage, monitoring, and runbook-driven troubleshooting.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment automation to keep delivery fast and safe.
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and cross-functional planning with product, QA, and SRE teams.
• Advocate for engineering best practices: testing, documentation, security, and scalable software architecture.
• Learn quickly, adapt to changing priorities, and mentor more junior engineers as the team grows.

What We’re Looking For

Minimum qualifications (required)

• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 2+ years professional experience working as a Software Engineer or in a related role.
• 2+ years building backend services in Go, Java, or Python with REST or gRPC and microservices architectures.
• 1+ year experience with datastores such as PostgreSQL/MySQL and one or more of Redis, Cassandra, or Cosmos DB.
• 1+ year experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• 1+ year cloud operations experience on a major cloud provider — Azure (AKS, storage, monitoring) preferred; AWS/GCP equivalent acceptable.
• Experience with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK/EFK, Jaeger, or similar).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling and Git-based workflows (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Practical experience with unit/integration testing, code reviews, and Agile/Scrum processes in production.

Nice-to-have

• Experience optimizing service performance and capacity at scale.
• Familiarity with secure coding practices and threat-mitigation patterns.
• Prior exposure to edge or distributed deployments and constrained environments.
• Strong communication skills and a track record of collaborative problem solving.

Compensation & logistics

• Salary range: $117,749 - $130,000 (annual).
• Employment type: Full-time.
• Location: Bellevue, WA (telecommuting permitted from anywhere in the U.S.).
• This role requires authorization to work in the United States.
