What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a Backend Software Engineer on the Payments Platform team to build and operate the services that power fiat on- and off-ramps for millions of customers. You will work on high-throughput, high-reliability systems where correctness and security are critical.
- Build and ship backend payment services (primarily in Go) that process high-volume fiat transactions across multiple rails.
- Deliver end-to-end projects from design, implementation, testing, and production deployment.
- Design and evolve distributed systems for routing, funds flow, and payment integrations to improve reliability and scalability.
- Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews that raise system quality.
- Collaborate with product managers, senior engineers, and cross-functional partners to convert roadmap priorities into production features.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years building and operating backend services in production using Go, Python, Java, or a similar language.
- Experience with relational databases (Postgres or similar) and service-oriented/cloud-native architectures.
- Proven ability to ship production-quality, well-tested code in systems where correctness and reliability matter.
- Familiarity with payment processing, financial systems, or other high-reliability transactional infrastructure.
- Strong debugging and system-design skills for distributed systems and fault-tolerant services.
- Demonstrated responsible use of generative AI to augment productivity while maintaining human oversight.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Transparency Notice: Annual base salary range (excludes equity and bonus): $152,405 USD - $179,300 USD. Total compensation may include equity, bonus eligibility, and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Actual pay is based on role, skills, and local market factors.
