What You’ll Do

This R&D role will help design, build, test, and deploy artificial intelligence algorithms that automate core insurance functions such as underwriting, pricing, and premium audit. You will write production-quality Python code, collaborate with business and data teams, and iterate on models using internal and third-party data.

  • Develop, test, and update AI and machine learning algorithms in Python
  • Write clean, scalable, and well-tested code using the current technology stack
  • Apply Property & Casualty insurance domain knowledge to risk-based models
  • Participate in design, research, and technical discussions with cross-functional teams
  • Integrate third-party data and services into model workflows
  • Deploy, monitor, debug, and refactor algorithms in production
  • Deliver solutions following Confidential Client engineering and quality standards

Qualifications

Required (minimums to be considered):

  • 2 years of professional work experience
  • 2 years of programming experience OR 2 years of Commercial Property & Casualty insurance experience
  • Demonstrable Python programming ability and experience building reliable code
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and attention to detail
  • Ability to test, document, and deploy models and related software

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred, but not required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Practical working knowledge of Microsoft Azure services and cloud-based ML tooling
  • Strong design, debugging, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with software architecture, design patterns, and agile methodologies
  • Experience building or deploying production ML models (training, validation, monitoring)

Work Location & Schedule

This is a full-time, hybrid position with a requirement to be in-office at the Stamford, CT location at least two days per week. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.


Compensation & Benefits

In accordance with pay transparency requirements, the good faith salary range for this role is $80,000 - $130,000 per year. Final pay will be based on candidate qualifications, geographic location, and applicable law.
