Overview
Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is hiring a Software Engineer / Forward Deployed AI Engineer to work on AI-enabled solutions across global supply chain and sourcing. This hybrid role (approximately 3 days onsite) is focused on translating ambiguous business workflows into production-ready applications, ontology-backed data models, validated pipelines, and robust user-facing features for a company that builds life‑saving medical devices.
What You’ll Do
- Operate as a forward-deployed AI engineer embedded with sourcing and supply chain teams to take use cases from requirements through production deployment.
- Spend ~70% coding and 30% stakeholder engagement — rapidly prototype, validate, then scale proven solutions.
- Design end-to-end workflows connecting ontology objects, data integrations, models, and applications to deliver measurable outcomes.
- Build, configure, test, and refine application functionality in partnership with product owners, SMEs, and end users.
- Deploy LLMs and AI agents in production environments while adhering to regulation and quality systems.
- Diagnose and resolve complex behaviors across data pipelines, ontologies, applications, and deployment environments.
- Document technical decisions, validation logic, assumptions, dependencies, and support needs.
- Contribute reusable patterns, documentation, and operational guardrails to accelerate future use cases.
What You’ll Bring (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or related field.
- 1–2 years of focused software engineering experience; proven track record as an expert-level individual contributor.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, React, Next.js (or similar) and Python.
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs and AI agents in production systems.
- Strong understanding of repository architecture and developer tooling (VSCode extensions, CLIs, integrations).
- Experience translating ambiguous business requirements into technical specs, application behavior, and validation logic.
- Strong problem-solving ability and comfort in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Ability to partner across technical, business, and external consulting teams and document technical decisions clearly.
Preferred
- Experience in supply chain, sourcing, procurement, contract or invoice management workflows.
- Familiarity with enterprise systems (Ariba, SAP, ERP), data warehouses, or procurement/supply chain applications.
- Exposure to ontology design, object-oriented data modeling, and workflow automation.
- Experience working in agile, product-oriented delivery environments.
