About the Role

Confidential Client’s Applied Engineering team builds and ships large-scale conversational AI products and public APIs. You’ll join a fast-moving, cross-functional group that learns from real-world deployment to create safe, reliable, and widely accessible experiences. This entry-level role focuses on delivering customer-facing features end-to-end and improving performance, reliability, and usability for millions of users.

What You’ll Do

• Own development of new customer-facing conversational AI features and API experiences end-to-end
• Talk to users to understand their problems and design pragmatic solutions
• Collaborate with engineers, researchers, product managers, designers, and operations to ship high-impact products
• Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and reliability
• Contribute to an inclusive team culture that welcomes diverse perspectives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field — or equivalent practical experience
• 0–1 years of professional software engineering or relevant internship experience
• Proficiency with JavaScript and React; familiarity with backend languages (Python preferred)
• Experience or familiarity with relational databases (Postgres, MySQL)
• Interest in AI/ML and product-focused engineering (direct ML research experience not required)
• Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with shifting priorities

Logistics & Compensation

• Employment type: Full-time
• Location: San Francisco, CA (on-site or hybrid per client policy)
• Compensation Range: $180,000 per year (reported by client)
