What You’ll Do

This is a hands-on engineering role building the AI systems that support investment workflows for a confidential client in financial services and capital markets. You will:

• Own production systems end-to-end — design, implement, and operate agent harnesses, tool integrations, and provenance tracking so investment teams can verify AI output against source documents.
• Build and maintain retrieval & vector search pipelines and RAG-based app layers used in analyst workflows.
• Implement monitoring, evaluation (evals), and observability for LLM-driven components.
• Partner closely with investment, investor relations, and operations teams to translate business workflows into reliable software.
• Use AI-assisted developer tools as part of your daily workflow to ship high-quality, maintainable production code.

Who You Are / Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in one or more of: Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Rust, or Go.
• Practical experience building LLM-based applications and patterns (agents, RAG, vector search, evals).
• Comfortable using AI-assisted dev tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) as part of your primary workflow.
• Proven track record of independently shipping production software and operating services in production.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in financial services or other compliance-sensitive, document-heavy domains.
• Familiarity with data provenance, auditability, and controls for regulated environments.
• Background in building tooling for non-engineering stakeholders (productizing ML/AI features into workflows).

Compensation & Logistics

• Base pay range: $150,000 — $190,000 per year (actual pay will be based on skills and experience).
• Location: New York, NY — onsite (5 days per week).
• Employment type: Full-time.
