Role Overview

Confidential client (a healthcare-focused startup) is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer / AI Engineer to own features end-to-end: design, implement, test, and deploy AI/LLM-enabled systems into production. This is a practical engineering role — not research-only — ideal for engineers who have shipped backend services, APIs, and AI-powered features in fast-paced environments.

What You’ll Do

• Take ownership of features from problem definition through production deployment
• Build and maintain backend systems and APIs that power AI/LLM applications
• Integrate and deploy LLM-based services into secure, scalable pipelines
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize production systems
• Collaborate directly with the CEO and clinical/product teams to turn clinical needs into working features
• Make practical engineering trade-offs to deliver value quickly while maintaining quality

Minimum Qualifications

• 4–6 years of professional software or AI engineering experience
• Proven experience shipping backend services and APIs into production
• Hands-on experience with AI/LLM applications, model integration, or model-serving pipelines
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills (you can take an issue from triage to fix)
• Experience working in fast-paced startup environments or similarly dynamic teams
• Comfortable making engineering decisions with limited direction and changing priorities

Nice to Have

• Prior healthcare or clinical-product experience
• Experience with cloud deployments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD for ML/AI systems
• Familiarity with container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes) or model-serving frameworks
• Background working cross-functionally with product and leadership teams
