What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend Java applications and REST APIs that operate in secure environments.
• Implement and troubleshoot messaging integrations using JMX messaging brokers (e.g., ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ).
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain services on Kubernetes.
• Collaborate on Agile teams using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and Git for version control.
• Use IntelliJ or Eclipse for development and debugging.
• Pivot quickly across tasks, prioritize work, and contribute to sprint planning and code reviews.
• Follow security best practices and procedures required for operating in cleared environments.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Professional experience with Java backend development (server-side, no front end required).
• Strong experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Kubernetes and containerized deployments.
• Experience with messaging systems (ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, or similar).
• Familiarity with Git and Atlassian toolsets (Jira, Confluence).
• Comfortable using IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse IDE.
• Able to multitask and shift priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Active U.S. security clearance required.
• Eligible and willing to work on-site in Glen Burnie, MD.
• Employment type: Full-time; Seniority: Entry level to early career.
