What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a Software Engineer 2 (Machine Learning) / ML Deployment Engineer to move VISTA (video, image, speech, and text analytics) models from research prototype to production inference services. You will work closely with researchers, product owners, and downstream engineering teams to deliver robust production systems.

  • Collaborate with researchers and end users to capture deployment requirements and align prototypes with operational needs
  • Build CI/CD, packaging, and deployment pipelines for Python-based ML services
  • Implement inference services using NVIDIA Triton Inference Server and optimize runtime with TensorRT and related execution providers
  • Create container images, tune container performance, and support orchestration in Kubernetes environments
  • Develop Business Logic Scripting (BLS) in-service pipelines and integrate with downstream services
  • Measure and improve throughput, latency, and reliability of inference systems
  • Produce user documentation, deployment runbooks, and establish best practices for transition to operations
  • Troubleshoot system issues and contribute to design decisions including hardware/software trade-offs and infrastructure-as-code

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following baseline qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (TS/SCI with Poly) — ability to maintain eligibility is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, OR equivalent experience (the posting indicates 14+ years of software engineering experience or substitution of 4 additional years per the original criteria)
  • Strong Python development experience, including packaging and testing for production
  • Solid understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline implementation
  • Intermediate/advanced experience creating and optimizing Docker containers
  • Beginner/intermediate experience with orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
  • Demonstrated experience taking ML or analytics projects from prototype to production
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and on small collaborative teams

Preferred Qualifications

These skills are beneficial but not required:

  • Experience with software development in C++, Java, Go, or CUDA
  • Experience supporting production ML systems and inference-scale deployments
  • Familiarity with ML domains such as NLP, Computer Vision, ASR, and video processing
  • Knowledge of model formats and optimization workflows (ONNX, TensorRT)

Security & Eligibility

  • This role requires an active Top Secret clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (TS/SCI with Poly). Candidates must already hold this clearance and be eligible to access required facilities and data.
  • Employment is contingent on continued clearance eligibility and adherence to client security policies.
