Position Overview
The Confidential Client is hiring a Software Development Engineer I to join the GenAI and Agentic ADC Developer Experience team. This engineering role focuses on building, operating, and scaling Agentic AI cloud services for classified and GovCloud/US ADC environments. You will write code, automate operations, troubleshoot distributed systems, and collaborate across teams to deliver highly secure, resilient solutions for government customers.

- Base salary range: $110,500 – $160,000 USD annually
- Clearance: Selected candidate must obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI with polygraph or equivalent as required by customer engagements
What You’ll Do
- Develop, build, and operate Agentic AI services and developer tooling used in GovCloud and US ADC regions
- Write production-quality code (Java, Python or similar) for automation, service tooling, and operational systems
- Troubleshoot large-scale Linux-based systems and networking issues; drive root-cause analysis and post-mortems
- Automate operational tasks, support parity and security campaigns (e.g., host patching, blocked software workflows)
- Work across teams to resolve technical issues and improve customer experience in classified environments
- Influence technical strategy, propose architecture improvements, and help scale solutions to thousands of devices
- Contribute to open-source solutions and internal developer experience tooling where applicable
Basic Qualifications
- 1+ years of professional (non-internship) software development experience
- Experience programming in at least one modern language (for example, Java or Python)
- Practical experience with Linux and strong networking fundamentals
- Ability to debug distributed systems and participate in technical post-mortems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred
- Experience with automation, DevOps practices, and large-scale distributed systems
- Familiarity with GovCloud, secure enclave operations, or working in classified environments
- Experience building developer tooling, service orchestration, or cloud-native infrastructure
- Demonstrated ability to “think big,” simplify complex systems, and drive results
Security Clearance
After hire, the role requires obtaining and maintaining an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph (or commensurate clearance for the relevant government agency). Applicants must be able to complete the clearance process.
Compensation & Benefits (summary)
- Base salary range: $110,500 – $160,000 USD annually (final offer will reflect experience, qualifications, and location)
