Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Software Developer in New Brunswick, NJ (hybrid). This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career engineers with foundational experience in modern languages and databases who want hands-on development experience, mentorship, and clear career growth.
What You’ll Do
As a member of a collaborative engineering team you will:
- Design, prototype, and develop software using modern languages and frameworks (examples: .NET, Java, open-source stacks)
- Apply software design patterns and best practices for scalable, maintainable code
- Build database-integrated solutions, ETL processes, and reporting tools
- Participate in Agile rituals, peer code reviews, and engineering discussions
- Support quality assurance activities: help craft test plans and execute test cases
- Create and maintain technical documentation: requirements, design notes, and user guides
- Learn quickly and contribute to continuous improvement of tools and processes
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field
- Foundational hands-on experience in software development (examples: SQL, Java, C#, .NET, J2EE, C++)
- Demonstrated ability to learn new frameworks and technologies quickly
- Strong analytical thinking and clear written/verbal communication skills
- Growth mindset, adaptability, and a collaborative orientation
- Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without restriction
Preferred (helpful but not required)
- Familiarity with Agile engineering practices
- Exposure to ETL or reporting pipelines and contemporary database technologies
- Any internship, co-op, or project experience demonstrating applied coding skills
Compensation
A reasonable estimated salary range for this role is $68,500 - $113,100 per year. Final compensation will depend on experience, skills, and location. This posting includes the range provided by the hiring organization to comply with applicable transparency requirements.
