Summary

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Software Developer / Database Management Specialist – GIS Analyst to support the FAA Technical Center’s Center Operations Division in Atlantic City, NJ. This role focuses on GIS application development and database integration for facilities management, GPS/GIS projects, and web/mobile geospatial solutions.


What You’ll Do

  • Support GIS application development and integration for web and mobile apps, focusing on ArcGIS, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online.
  • Author, publish, maintain, and update web services for web applications; support data development and integration.
  • Capture and integrate data from satellite systems and tabular sources into geospatial databases.
  • Develop facilities-related GIS application tools to support GIS/GPS projects and facilities management workflows.
  • Maintain and update SQL Server and other RDBMS databases; establish database structures and relationships between geospatial and tabular data.
  • Create geospatial databases, tables, and database relationships; perform digitizing and topology work as needed.
  • Operate GIS, Archibus, Oracle and related hardware/software to produce maps and analysis following cartographic principles.
  • Update site master plans with aboveground and belowground utility locations and building changes.
  • Provide hardware/software support, user training, and system assistance for GIS and facilities management programs.
  • Conduct routine data file management tasks (editing, merging, deletion, additions) and interact with engineers/scientists on project data preparation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in one of: computer science, information science, information technology/information systems, systems/network administration, software engineering, or computer engineering.
  • Entry-level or minimal professional experience acceptable.
  • Working familiarity with common desktop applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
  • Experience with Esri software (ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Desktop and/or ArcGIS Pro) or equivalent GIS tools.

Preferred / Helpful Skills

  • Experience developing or publishing web services for GIS web applications.
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise administration or development.
  • Basic scripting or programming experience relevant to geospatial workflows (Python, SQL, or web stack).
  • Experience with facilities management systems (e.g., Archibus) and integrating those datasets into GIS.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and provide end-user training.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $70,000 – $80,000 per year (good-faith estimate; actual compensation may vary based on experience and other factors).
