What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Software Cyber Engineer to join an Offensive Cyber software team. This role focuses on designing, building, testing, and improving software tools that support offensive cyber operations and mission objectives.

  • Design and develop software to support offensive cyber operations and mission requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineers, analysts, and mission planners to translate user needs into reliable code
  • Debug, test, and tune existing applications for performance, reliability, and security
  • Create and execute software test plans and document results
  • Contribute to continuous-improvement initiatives across tools, processes, and development pipelines
  • Research and prototype new techniques, languages, and frameworks to stay ahead of emerging threats
  • Apply AI prompting techniques where appropriate to accelerate development and analysis

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active US security clearance with a polygraph at the time of hire
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Network Engineering from an accredited college OR 4 years equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree
  • Demonstrated programming experience on Windows or Linux platforms (examples: systems programming, network programming)
  • Ability to write and execute software test plans
  • Ability to install and configure endpoint security tools such as anti-virus and anti-spyware

Preferred / Desired Skills

  • Experience with Windows, Linux, or network programming (2 years preferred)
  • Familiarity with offensive cyber concepts and toolchains
  • Certifications such as MCSE, RHCE, CEH, or CCNA are a plus
  • Comfortable applying AI prompting in development and analysis workflows
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • Full-time salary range: $91,200 — $169,400 per year (range provided by the client)
  • This position may be eligible for a $25,000 sign-on bonus for external hires
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, paid time off, parental leave, flexible schedules, education assistance, life and disability insurance, and employee assistance programs
  • Additional short- or long-term incentive programs may be available depending on role and performance

Location & Eligibility

  • Work location: Harmans, MD (on-site / client site)
  • Candidates must possess an active US security clearance with polygraph at time of hire
  • Candidates must meet any citizenship and background requirements necessary to hold the required clearance
