What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a Social Studies / Humanities Teacher for middle school (grades 6–8) at Jackie Doucet Caffey Jr. High in Manvel, TX for the 2026–27 school year. This is a 10‑month teaching position with girls athletic coaching responsibilities.
- Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in social studies and humanities for middle school students
- Plan lessons, develop unit assessments, and use data to drive instructional decisions
- Create a positive classroom culture and manage student behavior effectively
- Differentiate instruction and support diverse learners, including English learners
- Collaborate with grade-level and content teams, counselors, and administrators
- Participate in extracurricular coaching duties for girls athletics as assigned
- Communicate regularly with families about student progress and needs
- Maintain accurate records and follow district policies for grading, attendance, and safety
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for the assigned subject and level
- Demonstrated competency in social studies/humanities at the middle school level
- ESL certification (required)
- At least one year of student teaching or an approved internship
- Strong classroom management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Prior middle school teaching experience in social studies or humanities
- Coaching experience or willingness to support girls athletic programs
- Familiarity with curriculum design, assessment creation, and intervention strategies
- Experience using student data systems and learning management platforms
Compensation & Schedule
- Position type: Contract (10-month teacher pay scale)
- Salary: Teacher Pay Scale/10 months — estimated $40,542 per year (provided by source; actual placement per district pay scale)
- Employment type: Full-time (10-month contract) with coaching responsibilities
