Summary
Confidential Client is hiring an Intake Social Caseworker (Social Caseworker B) to provide intake-level child welfare casework in a hybrid work model (expected 3 days in the office). This role focuses on intake assessments, crisis intervention, case management, family engagement, court preparation, and collaboration with community partners to ensure child safety and family stability.
What You’ll Do
- Provide professional intake case management for families where child abuse or neglect is present or suspected.
- Conduct comprehensive safety assessments, situational evaluations, and risk determinations.
- Deliver crisis intervention, information and referral, and resource mobilization to support families.
- Complete timely, case-specific documentation (family service plans, court paperwork, TRAILS entries, visitation assessments, etc.).
- Maintain monthly face-to-face contacts with children and families and document outcomes within regulated timeframes.
- Collaborate with law enforcement, medical professionals, CASA/GAL, treatment providers, schools, and other partners.
- Prepare background information and summaries for court hearings; attend hearings and testify as needed.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, family team meetings, RED team activities, and required continuing education.
- Support permanency planning and work to remove barriers to long-term family stability.
Who You Are / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related human behavioral science from an accredited institution, including at least 30 semester (or 45 quarter) hours in human behavior science — OR a master’s degree in social work/related field (meets requirements without experience).
- Minimum one year of professional casework, case management, or human services experience — OR completion of a child welfare internship with direct service to children and families; alternative combinations of coursework and experience are acceptable as described in the full qualifications.
- Strong conflict-resolution and de-escalation skills; comfortable making decisions in high-stress situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to prepare court documents and professional correspondence.
- Solid organizational skills, ability to prioritize, take initiative, and manage a high caseload.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn state/county systems.
- Valid Class "R" Colorado driver’s license at hire or ability to obtain within two weeks (or meet equivalent local requirement if applicable).
- Must pass background checks, fingerprinting, and pre-employment screening (including motor vehicle record checks).
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Hybrid work model — positions require approximately 3 days in the office (office location(s) may include Aurora or Littleton).
- Frequent travel to homes, schools, and community sites (estimated 20–40% of time) and occasional physical exertion when transporting children.
- Work can involve contact with hostile or emotionally distressed individuals; must maintain professionalism and safety protocols.
- Typical physical demands:
- Approximately 50% sitting and 50% standing/walking.
- Occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 20 lbs; may use equipment for heavier loads.
- May kneel, stoop, climb, reach, crouch as job duties require.
- Regular use of phones, radios, computers, and other office equipment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range (posted): $61,232.08 - $81,831.10 per year.
- Anticipated hiring range: $61,232.08 - $74,555.52 (actual offer may vary based on experience and qualifications).

Additional Notes & Requirements
- This position is essential staff for permanency casework and may require availability for winter storms and emergency events, including on-call rotation.
