Overview

This opportunity is for a Ground Systems Operator (SkillBridge participation possible) supporting a confidential client in Centennial, CO. The role focuses on operating and maintaining complex ground-station systems, monitoring system health, performing frontline troubleshooting, and supporting antenna/RF operations. Active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required at time of application.

What You’ll Do

The Ground Systems Operator will ensure mission readiness and reliable ground-station performance by:

• Monitor system health and performance metrics; perform routine status checks
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues (first-line resolution)
• Support antenna operations and RF engineering tasks during missions
• Execute maintenance and operational procedures to sustain mission availability
• Log events, document workflows, and capture resolution artifacts
• Communicate status, incidents and recommendations to stakeholders and cross-functional teams
• Contribute to continuous improvement of operational processes and runbooks

Who We’re Looking For

This requisition may be filled at Level 1 or Level 2 depending on qualifications.

Basic qualifications — Level 1

• Bachelor’s degree and 0 years relevant experience (or 4 years relevant experience in lieu of degree)
• Educational background or experience in antenna operations, RF systems, or related fields
• Experience with or ability to learn Linux systems (scripting/troubleshooting)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity or willingness to learn operational workflows and maintenance processes
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required at time of application

Basic qualifications — Level 2

• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years relevant experience (or Master’s with 0 years); 4 years relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree
• Educational background or experience in antenna operations, RF systems, or related fields
• Experience with or ability to learn Linux systems (scripting/troubleshooting)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven communication skills
• Familiarity or willingness to learn operational workflows and maintenance processes
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required at time of application

Preferred qualifications

• STEM degree
• Experience as a service desk/operator or similar operator role
• Hands-on experience with satellite and RF monitoring/management systems
• Ability to lead technical investigations and prepare event artifacts
• Ability to brief technical and non-technical audiences
• Possession of a valid U.S. passport and willingness to travel OCONUS for 2–4 weeks annually

SkillBridge Participation (if applicable)

This position may be offered through the Department of Defense SkillBridge program for eligible service members. SkillBridge participants:

• Must meet SkillBridge eligibility (e.g., within 12 months of separation/retirement, honorable discharge anticipated, command authorization)
• Receive military compensation during participation; the confidential client does not provide compensation to SkillBridge participants
• Will gain hands-on experience in an entry-to-mid-level operational role, typically supporting a ~40-hour workweek
• Are not guaranteed employment after completion, but successful participants often convert to full-time roles

Compensation & Benefits

Salary ranges (posted by source) — dependent on level and candidate factors:

• Level 1 range (Primary): $69,400 – $104,000 per year
• Level 2 range (Secondary): $83,400 – $125,200 per year

Actual offers consider experience, education, skills, and market factors. Depending on role, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary/annual bonuses, and other benefits (health insurance, life/disability insurance, retirement/savings plans, paid time off, company holidays, etc.).

(Note: Colorado pay-transparency rules applicable to Centennial, CO are satisfied via the ranges above.)
