Overview
Confidential client is seeking a Technical & Simulation Support Specialist (Tier 1/2) to provide hands-on IT and simulation lab support for a campus and associated remote locations. This role combines desktop/help-desk work, AV/classroom equipment support, and intermediate-level simulation (SimCare) systems support. The position is full-time and based in Schiller Park, IL.
What You’ll Do
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT support for campus users, student workers, and remote locations.
- Inspect classroom and lab equipment daily; create and follow repair tickets and resolutions.
- Build OS images and software packages for deployment.
- Assist and supervise Student Workers / Support Tech I staff as needed.
- Maintain lab security processes and ensure equipment meets academic requirements.
- Troubleshoot Windows OS, hardware, printers, network connectivity, and telephony basics.
- Coordinate with facilities and vendors for onsite repairs and installations.
- Provide intermediate support to the SimCare center (approx. 10 hours/week), including:
- Setup and maintain simulators and manikins (Laerdal, Gaumard, SimMan, Noelle, Baby Hal, etc.).
- Maintain podium PCs, projectors, WOW carts, laptops and peripheral AV equipment.
- Support control room / simbays, cameras, monitors, and recording systems.
- Assist with software updates, daily operations, and training session setups.
- Attend SimLab training, webinars, and conferences; respond to service calls and short‑notice requests.
- Perform other duties as assigned and follow standard operating guides and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ desktop support / help desk experience (required).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with Microsoft Active Directory in a large network environment (required).
- Entry-level experience with networking (data/voice) systems (required).
- Hands-on familiarity with classroom AV equipment and lab hardware (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, installation, and troubleshooting.
- Advanced PC troubleshooting and hardware/software installation skills.
- Experience with printer troubleshooting and repair.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
- Must achieve confidential client SimCare Technical Support Certification (successful completion of Laerdal, Gaumard and Learning Space training) — required.
- MCP and CompTIA A+ certifications preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range (posted): $38,894.07 — $68,341.37 per year. Actual pay will be based on experience, location, and permitted job-related factors.

- Worksite: Schiller Park, IL (on-site; may support nearby campuses and remote locations).
