SharePoint UI/UX Designer
The SharePoint UI/UX Designer will create engaging, user-centered digital workplace experiences within SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365, collaborating with stakeholders and development teams to design modern intranets and collaboration portals. This role focuses on applying UX best practices, accessibility standards, and information architecture to enhance employee engagement, knowledge sharing, and productivity across the organization.

What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a SharePoint UI/UX Designer to create engaging, user-centered digital workplace experiences across SharePoint Online and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. You will partner with business stakeholders, content owners, developers, and digital transformation teams to design modern intranets, collaboration portals, knowledge hubs, and communication sites that increase employee engagement, knowledge sharing, and productivity.
- Gather and analyze business, user, and technical requirements for SharePoint and Microsoft 365 initiatives
- Design wireframes, mockups, page layouts, navigation models, site maps, and interactive prototypes
- Create information architecture, taxonomy, metadata models, and content organization strategies
- Run stakeholder interviews, discovery sessions, workshops, and user research
- Apply UX best practices, accessibility standards (WCAG), and design system principles
- Support usability testing and iterate designs based on user feedback
- Collaborate with SharePoint developers, Microsoft 365 admins, communications teams, and stakeholders
- Present design concepts and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences
- Manage multiple projects while delivering high-quality, on-time deliverables
- Contribute to digital workplace design standards, templates, and best practices
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in User Experience Design, HCI, Information Architecture, Digital Design, Graphic Design, Communications, or related field
- 5+ years of UX design experience focused on digital workplace or SharePoint Online solutions
- Hands-on experience designing SharePoint Online intranets, communication sites, collaboration portals, or knowledge management solutions
- Proven experience developing site structures, navigation frameworks, taxonomy, metadata, and content governance
- Proficiency with UX design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience facilitating workshops, discovery sessions, and stakeholder interviews
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- UX or Design Thinking certifications
- Experience with Microsoft 365 collaboration technologies and modern workplace solutions
- Knowledge of WCAG and inclusive design practices
- Familiarity with knowledge management and content governance platforms
- Experience supporting digital transformation programs
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $50.00/hr - $55.17/hr (hourly; actual pay will be based on experience, skills, and other factors)
- Contract position — employment type: CONTRACTOR
- Benefits (where applicable): medical, dental, vision, HSA/FSA, 401(k), life/disability insurance for eligible employees; paid time off for salaried personnel where applicable
