What You’ll Do

This is a contract, full-time, onsite role focused on carrier and customer settlements within a transportation/billing team. You will be the main point of contact for settlement questions and ensure accurate, timely load closure and payment processing.

  • Verify load settlements for accuracy using carrier documentation and PODs
  • Research and resolve settlement discrepancies with carriers and customers
  • Process and follow up on accessorial charges, weight loss, detention, and other billing adjustments
  • Coordinate with Accounting to escalate and clear outstanding settlement issues
  • Close loads end-to-end and maintain clear documentation for payments
  • Track multiple open items simultaneously and drive timely resolution

Qualifications & Skills

  • 2+ years billing or freight/transportation settlement experience preferred (billing experience ideal)
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication with carriers, customers, and internal teams
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and follow-through
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; basic Excel skills required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but equivalent experience will be considered
  • TIA Certified Transportation Broker designation is a plus

Work Environment & Logistics

  • Worksite: Fully onsite at the client’s office in State House, NE (local candidates preferred)
  • Team size: small billing team; role currently covers backlog and requires strong documentation discipline
  • Dress code: casual business (jeans without holes acceptable, collared shirt/polo)
  • This is a contract position (duration depends on backlog and business needs)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour (range provided by the client)
