Role Overview

This role hires an SEO Data Scientist / Organic Search Data Analyst / SEO Platform Specialist to turn organic search signals into actionable insights that grow traffic and revenue for a confidential client in the Education industry. You will design analyses, build scalable data pipelines and dashboards, and partner with SEO, product, and engineering teams to measure and optimize organic search performance.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead quantitative analyses of organic search performance to identify growth opportunities and measure impact.
  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines and datasets (Search Console, server logs, analytics, backlink data) for reliable SEO reporting.
  • Develop predictive and experimental models to attribute organic traffic and forecast trends.
  • Create dashboards and automated reports to surface prioritized recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Instrument A/B tests and monitor SEO experiments for statistical validity and SEO-specific metrics.
  • Translate complex analyses into clear, actionable insights for cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to define measurement requirements and implement tracking best practices.

Must-have Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in data analysis, data science, or analytics roles with measurable outcomes.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience building production queries and data models.
  • Proficiency in a data-science language (Python or R) for analysis and modeling.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing organic search data and SEO metrics (impressions, clicks, CTR, position).
  • Ability to communicate technical results clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Located in (or able to work in) New York, NY and authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice-to-have / Preferred

  • Experience with Google Search Console, Google Analytics/GA4, or similar SEO platforms.
  • Familiarity with BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or other cloud data warehouses.
  • Experience with visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Data Studio) and dashboarding best practices.
  • Background in A/B testing, causal inference, or time-series forecasting applied to SEO.
  • Prior work in the Education sector or on content-heavy platforms.
