Role Overview
Confidential Client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a Content Platforms & Operations team focused on building scalable systems for media supply chain, content storage, distribution, and digital media operations. This is a backend-focused engineering role with regular collaboration across frontend, product, design, and QA teams.
What You’ll Do
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver production fixes.
- Investigate system anomalies and support cross-functional troubleshooting across microservices and integrations.
- Develop, review, and maintain backend services with strong attention to reliability, performance, and security.
- Support and troubleshoot REST API integrations and third-party SaaS platforms.
- Participate in peer code reviews and follow secure, efficient engineering practices.
- Contribute to monitoring, alerting, and ongoing platform performance improvements.
- Follow CI/CD and deployment processes to enable stable, repeatable releases.
- Support long-term health and maintainability of the applications ecosystem.
What We’re Looking For (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 3 years of experience with cloud-based technologies and production systems.
- Strong backend development experience in one or more of:
- Node.js
- Python (Django or FastAPI)
- Go
- Experience designing and supporting RESTful APIs.
- Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
- Practical understanding of server-side architecture, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Experience with AWS services, including (but not limited to):
- Amazon EC2
- Amazon CloudFront
- AWS Lambda
- Amazon SQS
- Amazon S3
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills; ability to analyze incidents and implement effective fixes.
- Familiarity with software engineering practices: unit testing, code reviews, documentation.
- Strong collaboration skills and comfort working in cross-functional teams with engineers of varying experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Frontend experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular; good knowledge of HTML/CSS and responsive design.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code).
- Prior experience in media management or digital media distribution operations.
- Experience working in an Agile environment and influencing technical decisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Proactive, pragmatic approach to identifying and recommending technical solutions.

Compensation & Benefits
- The source posting lists a hiring range of $117,500 – $157,500 USD (shown for a specific geography in the original posting). Actual base compensation may vary by location, experience, and internal equity.
