What You’ll Do

• Design and build reproducible Reinforcement Learning (RL) environments to evaluate AI models on complex software engineering tasks.
• Implement and maintain Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools to exercise, verify, and measure model behavior.
• Fix bugs, develop new features, refactor existing codebases, and optimize performance across components.
• Create deterministic verification processes and golden reference solutions to assess software-engineering correctness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (researchers, engineers, product) to deliver maintainable, scalable solutions and test harnesses.
• Produce clear documentation, test plans, and reproducible benchmarks for model and system evaluation.

Requirements

• Strong programming skills in one or more: C++, Python, Java, Go (Golang), TypeScript, or Rust.
• Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and performance tuning.
• Proven experience debugging complex, multi-language systems.
• Track record of feature development, codebase refactoring, and building testable systems.
• Familiarity with designing deterministic environments and reproducible experiments.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work remotely with distributed teams.

Nice-to-Have / Preferred

• Prior experience building RL environments, simulators, or automated evaluation harnesses.
• Background working with model-evaluation tooling such as MCP or similar protocols.
• Experience creating “golden” reference solutions or oracle test suites.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and performance benchmarking tools.
• Experience working on remote, contract, or distributed engineering teams.

Working Arrangements & Compensation

• Employment type: Contract (Contractor).
• Compensation: $100 - $150 per hour.
• Time commitment: Flexible — typically 10–40 hours per week (contract terms negotiable).
• Location: Remote (US-based candidates preferred; role is TELECOMMUTE).
• Contract length: Project/contract-based (details to be discussed during interview).
