Role Overview
Confidential Client is hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Platform) to design and deliver cloud-native, Java-based microservices that power high-volume, secure financial and member-benefit transactions. This role sits on the FinTech/Platform engineering team and focuses on scalable architecture, performance, security, and operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, test, and deploy highly scalable Java-based microservices and RESTful APIs using Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.x.
- Develop fault-tolerant, low-latency systems capable of supporting high transaction volumes.
- Build and maintain containerized services with Docker and orchestrate them on Kubernetes.
- Deploy and operate services in public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices using Jenkins, Git, and related tools.
- Integrate payment and tokenization flows, working with payment APIs and lifecycle management.
- Apply secure-coding practices for authentication, authorization, encryption, key management, and certificates.
- Tune SQL and NoSQL databases for transactional reliability and performance.
- Use messaging and distributed processing (e.g., Kafka) for event-driven workloads.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews, conduct code reviews, and mentor peers.
- Troubleshoot production issues and drive performance and reliability improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of hands-on Java development experience.
- Strong experience with Java 21 and Spring Framework / Spring Boot 3.x.
- Practical knowledge of microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
- Experience with Hibernate and relational / NoSQL databases.
- Experience deploying and operating services on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and Git.
- Familiarity with Agile software development and collaborative delivery practices.
- Experience developing secure applications, preferably in regulated or FinTech contexts.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with payment tokenization and Mastercard Digital Enablement Service (MDES).
- Experience with secure credential provisioning and payment-token lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with Azure Functions, Azure Key Vault, or Azure App Service.
- Knowledge of PCI DSS and EMVCo standards.
- Experience with Kafka, Hadoop, or other distributed data processing technologies.
- Front-end exposure (React or Angular) is a plus.
Location & Work Arrangement
This role is on-site in Plantation, FL. Candidates must be able to work from the client’s Plantation location as required.
