Why This Role, Why Now

  • Accelerate from software developer to AI-capable engineer through a paid, team-based six-week AI engineering training program.
  • Rapid career and pay-growth path — first-year pay of $95,000–$120,000 with a clear roadmap toward higher market rates for experienced Forward Deployed Engineers.
  • Deploy to major enterprise and government clients, working on real-world projects where your delivery matters from day one.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and deploy agentic AI-enabled applications inside client cloud environments.
  • Own delivery of client-facing capabilities from problem framing through deployment and handoff.
  • Work embedded with client engineering teams and stakeholders, operating within their tools and constraints.
  • Translate ambiguous business needs into scoped specs and defensible architecture.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to speed delivery where they add value.
  • Define and share engineering patterns, reference implementations, coding standards, and review practices.
  • Communicate progress, tradeoffs, and risks to client stakeholders; produce durable documentation.

What You’ll Need

  • 3+ years of professional, full-time experience as a software developer.
  • Proficiency in at least one: Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript/Node.js. (Framework experience such as Spring Boot, .NET Core, Django, or Express is a plus.)
  • Experience building or consuming REST APIs.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Secret security clearance (required for this role).
  • Willingness to relocate as needed for client deployments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for client-facing work.
  • W-2 employment required; this is not a C2C opportunity.

Nice to Have

  • Consulting or client-facing delivery experience.
  • Agile/Scrum experience using Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
  • DevOps, CI/CD, cloud platform experience, web UI development, or test automation.
  • Prior exposure to AI coding assistants (e.g., Copilot, Claude) — useful but not required.

Security clearance: your fast track

U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Secret security clearance are required. Candidates who already hold a Secret or Top Secret clearance (including transitioning veterans) will receive prioritized consideration. If you're eligible but not yet cleared, the Confidential Client will guide you through the process.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base pay range: $95,000 — $120,000 per year (provided by the Confidential Client).
  • Full benefits: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k).
  • Paid AI engineering training and certification during the program; you earn while you learn.
