What You’ll Do
Confidential client’s Concepts Lab hires Senior Software Engineers who can take validated experiments into production and embed with delivery teams to hand off supported, documented systems.
- Build and ship production-quality services that graduate from lab experiments into long-term teams.
- Embed directly with delivery teams, working in their repositories, CI/CD, and release processes for the duration of each engagement.
- Own production health during an engagement: monitoring, security patching, dependency upgrades, runbooks, and incident follow-through.
- Design and implement reliable deployment paths for internal experimental environments so the team can stand up new experiments quickly and safely.
- Drive engineering standards for testing, observability, cost management, security, and code quality.
- Lead clean handoffs: documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer so receiving teams can operate services long-term.
- Mentor engineers and contractors, participate in hiring, and help shape engineering practices across the lab.
Who You Are (must-have)
- 8+ years building and operating production software systems.
- Proven system design experience across components and API/service boundaries with attention to failure modes and mitigation.
- Production-grade experience writing Python and/or TypeScript in code other engineers adopted.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated testing.
- Operational ownership experience: runbooks, diagnostics, and post-incident follow-through.
- Comfortable in ambiguous, early-stage environments—able to decide when to prototype fast vs. build for longevity.
- Practical use of AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate delivery while ensuring correctness and production safety.
Nice to Have
- Experience in media, streaming, or gaming.
- Prior work in an innovation lab, incubation environment, or R&D organization.
- Familiarity with agentic coding frameworks (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) across development cycles.
Team & Culture
Confidential client’s Concepts Lab is an R&D and incubation group focused on testing new experiences and technologies. The lab moves in short cycles: experiments are validated quickly and, when successful, transitioned to delivery teams with a full engineering handoff. You’ll work closely with product and business partners and be part of a small team where your work and standards have visible, lasting impact.
