What You’ll Do

Confidential client is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer (primarily backend) for a 6-month contract-to-hire engagement in Hyde Park, UT. You will design, build, and support web applications and APIs, collaborate with product and engineering teams, and help shape technical standards and architecture.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain C#/.NET applications and APIs (.NET Core, ASP.NET, MVC, Web API).
• Own backend implementation work (70–80% backend focus).
• Translate product and business requirements into reliable, maintainable technical solutions.
• Develop and optimize SQL Server databases, stored procedures, and functions.
• Troubleshoot complex application and production issues and participate across the SDLC.
• Contribute to architecture, design reviews, coding standards, and technical documentation.
• Manage multiple priorities and work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years professional C#/.NET development experience.
• Strong experience with .NET Core, ASP.NET, MVC, LINQ, and Web API.
• 6+ years working with SQL Server or equivalent SQL databases; strong stored-procedure and database development skills.
• Experience building and consuming REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, JSON, and responsive web development.
• Strong problem-solving skills and clear communication.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across product and engineering stakeholders.
• Product-development or product-engineering experience (SaaS, government software, or similar) preferred.

• Experience partnering directly with product managers or product owners.
• Background in regulated industries (Insurance, Healthcare, Government).
• Front-end experience with React, Angular, or Vue.
• Agile/Scrum experience.
• Cloud or modern application architecture experience (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Mentoring, technical leadership, or senior contributor experience.

Compensation & Employment Type

• 6-month Contract-to-Hire (initial contractor engagement).
• Contract pay: $63 to $72 per hour.
• Conversion salary if hired full-time: approximately $130,000 to $150,000 per year (estimates provided by client).
• Location: Hyde Park, UT (on-site / local collaboration expectations per hiring manager).
