What You’ll Do

Confidential Client seeks a Senior Software Engineer / Cloud Engineer to design and build reliable, scalable, secure cloud-native applications. This is a hands-on software engineering role with significant cloud engineering responsibilities — not a DevOps-only position.

• Translate loosely defined business and technical requirements into well-architected software solutions.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain production-quality backend services, APIs, and microservices.
• Build solutions across cloud platforms (GCP preferred; Azure and AWS considered).
• Implement cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
• Support CI/CD and automated deployment pipelines.
• Collaborate with product teams, engineers, and stakeholders through the development lifecycle.
• Apply secure engineering practices and contribute to system reliability and continuous improvement.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and pair programming as a senior technical contributor.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline (Master’s/PhD welcome).
• Approximately 8–10+ years of relevant software/cloud engineering experience or equivalent.
• Strong, hands-on software engineering experience building production applications (APIs, microservices, backend services).
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform; Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is strongly preferred.
• Proven experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience in Agile software development environments.
• Ability to independently architect and implement solutions from loosely defined requirements.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Eligible to work on W2 without sponsorship now or in the future; Confidential Client does not accept third-party agency referrals or subcontracting arrangements for this role.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on Rust experience.
• Experience with Python, Go, or other modern languages.
• Kubernetes and containerization experience.
• Prior cloud infrastructure engineering and cloud-native application development experience.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, or other regulated industries.

Compensation & Work Model

• Pay range: $80.00/hr – $90.00/hr (W2).
• Employment type: Contractor.
• Location: Fully Remote — Eastern Time zone preferred.
• Confidential Client cannot accept candidates who require future sponsorship.
