Position Overview
Confidential Client is hiring a Senior Data Scientist (Data Analytics) to join a hybrid team based in Philadelphia, PA. This role partners with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to design and deliver scalable analytics, build predictive models, and turn data into actionable insight that directly influences product and operational decisions.
What You’ll Do
You will lead technical analytics efforts and deliver end-to-end data science solutions that improve core business outcomes. Responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and validate predictive models and advanced analytics (classification, regression, time series, causal inference).
- Translate business questions into analytic approaches and deliver clear, actionable recommendations.
- Build ETL/data pipelines and collaborate with engineers to productionize ML models and metrics.
- Develop dashboards and visualizations to communicate results to non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor junior data scientists and analysts; contribute to best practices for code, testing, and documentation.
- Drive A/B testing and experimentation to measure impact and support data-driven decisions.
Who You Are / Qualifications
Minimum qualifications (required):
- 4+ years in data science, analytics, or a closely related role working with large datasets.
- Strong programming skills in Python (pandas, scikit-learn) or R and proficiency with SQL for data extraction and transformation.
- Experience building and validating predictive models and deploying them to production or working closely with engineering teams to do so.
- Solid knowledge of statistical inference, experimental design (A/B testing), and performance evaluation metrics.
- Clear communicator; able to present technical findings to business stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and MLOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD).
- Familiarity with big-data tools such as Spark, Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake.
- Hands-on experience with feature engineering, time-series forecasting, and causal analysis.
- Prior experience mentoring or leading small analytics teams.
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Math, or related field.
Working Conditions & Location
This is a hybrid position based in Philadelphia, PA. Expect a mix of on-site collaboration and remote work per the Confidential Client’s hybrid policy. Employment type: Full-time.
