Senior Data Scientist
The Senior Data Scientist at Confidential Client will lead the design and deployment of advanced Generative AI solutions using Large Language Models to address enterprise challenges such as customer service and document automation. This role requires deep expertise in machine learning, NLP, and hands-on experience with modern GenAI frameworks, collaborating cross-functionally to build scalable AI applications while ensuring model performance and compliance with data privacy standards. The position is primarily on-site in Atlanta with a focus on innovation in GenAI technologies.

What You’ll Do
You will lead the design, development, and production deployment of Generative AI solutions that solve real business problems. Work closely with data engineering, MLOps, product, and business stakeholders to build scalable LLM-based applications for use cases such as knowledge retrieval, document automation, summarization, and conversational agents. Translate business requirements into technical designs, evaluate model trade-offs, and deliver APIs and production services that meet latency, cost, and accuracy targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build Generative AI solutions using Large Language Models (LLMs) for enterprise use cases.
- Lead model adaptation and fine-tuning with domain-specific data; implement evaluation and monitoring.
- Build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines with embeddings and vector stores (FAISS, Pinecone, ChromaDB).
- Create prompt strategies, prompt chains, and integrations using tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or custom frameworks.
- Develop and deploy production APIs and apps (FastAPI, Flask, Streamlit) in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Optimize models for accuracy, latency, cost, and bias mitigation.
- Stay current on LLM and GenAI architecture advances and apply best practices for security and privacy.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years in Data Science / ML with at least 1 year hands-on delivering LLM / GenAI solutions.
- Strong Python experience and familiarity with libraries such as Transformers, LangChain, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- Practical experience with modern models and providers (OpenAI GPT-4, Anthropic/Claude, Mistral, LLaMA variants, etc.).
- Knowledge of embeddings, semantic search, and vector search technologies.
- Experience building scalable ML workflows and exposing models via APIs or web apps.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and MLOps practices.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to translate technical work into measurable business impact.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with prompt tuning, few-shot learning, LoRA-style fine-tuning, or other model adaptation techniques.
- Background in regulated domains (finance, insurance, healthcare) or enterprise-grade security and data privacy for AI.
- Hands-on experience with vector databases and production RAG systems.
- Demonstrated mentorship or leadership experience on cross-functional AI projects.
Location & Work Arrangement
- Location: New Jersey, US (role will be associated with the client’s New Jersey office).
- Employment type: Full-time.
- On-site expectation: This position requires on-site presence as determined by the client (typically a hybrid schedule; confirm during interview).
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: USD 130,000 – 140,000 per year (as provided by the client).
