What You’ll Do

• Develop and deploy end-to-end machine learning solutions (classification, regression, forecasting, NLP, predictive modeling) for Commercial and Medical stakeholders.
• Build and industrialize production-ready ML applications that use both structured and unstructured data.
• Partner with Data Science Product Owners, Data Leads, ML Engineers, and MLOps teams to design scalable solutions.
• Apply MLOps best practices (CI/CD, model versioning, monitoring, validation, and performance optimization).
• Leverage cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for model development, training, and serving.
• Translate ambiguous business problems into clear analytical initiatives and actionable insights.
• Communicate complex analytical findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Maintain strong standards around data quality, data governance, model validation, ethics, and regulatory compliance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Strong programming experience with Python and/or R and solid SQL skills.
• Demonstrable knowledge of machine learning and deep learning techniques.
• Hands-on experience developing and deploying ML solutions into production.
• Experience with MLOps practices (CI/CD, model versioning, monitoring, validation).
• Experience using one or more cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences.
• Experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience with Spark, Hadoop, Databricks, or other big data technologies.
• Familiarity with visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI.
• Experience applying ML to NLP, text classification, clustering, forecasting, or ROI analysis.
• Publications, open-source contributions, or relevant AI/ML certifications are a plus.

Compensation & Employment Type

• Employment type: CONTRACTOR (based in South San Francisco, CA).
• Pay rate: $55.00 — $87.00 per hour (USD). Actual pay may vary based on experience and the Confidential Client’s policies.
• Location: South San Francisco, California — work arrangement and on-site expectations will be determined by the Confidential Client.
